I've also heard amazing things about Jacqueline Carey's books. I've got to add them to my ever-growing list.

I've read a little bit by her, and I have them all, but I keep getting distracted by other things ... they're kind of daunting books to get into. the other one of hers that I've read some of, I'm 400 pages in and barely half way through the book.

All right ,i could try one book and see if i get into it. i'm adding her to my ALSO growing list of to-be-read-books .
I'm also waiting for my copy of The Mists of Avalon from Marion Zimmer Bradley, a friend insisted on my reading this book, so we'll see if i like it.

I got part way through her 3rd Kushiel book and got distracted by something else new and shiny - I do that a lot with books *blushes* At the moment, I'm: 1. re-reading Nightwalker, 2. re-reading 'The Sweet Scent of Blood' by Suzanne Mcleod before book 2 comes out in a couple of weeks, 3. reading Obedience by Will Lavendar 4. re-reading The Lies of Locke Lamora in preparation for book 3. 5. reading for the first time something(s) else, that I can't remember right now. Yes, I really do have that many different books on the go at once.

heee ... those are some wonderfully cute and fluffy books ... I don't normally read romance, but I like those.

Just a quick reminder that Rachel Vincent's latest shapeshifter book, Prey, comes out this week. If you like shapeshifters and haven't picked up this series yet, I highly recommend it. It's excellent!

wow .. so everyone must have gone underground when Rachel's book came out so they could read it ... I am unfortunately behind in the series and need to get caught up ... so in the meantime, I've read Kushiel's Dart and Kushiel's Chosen and started in on Kushiel's Avatar, but just not in the mindset to keep reading that right now, so I switched to Greywalker by Kat Richardson ... pretty good so far. and I'm ticked cause we still haven't gotten ANY City of Souls in at my store, so I finally got fed up with waiting and ordered a copy. of course, I would have ordered it last week, but the system told me I couldn't cause it wasn't out yet, which is a load of bull.

Sorry to hear about your luck with City of Souls. I picked up the last copy at my local Borders along with Rachel's latest. I'm behidn on both series at the moment, but I'm just biding my time. In November, I get to catch up on my reading for a whole month. It's all urban fantasy for a whole month and it's gonna be awesome.
