That's a hard question because there are a lot of good places to get good food and it kind of depends on where you are and what you're looking to spend. Kim's signing is at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in a place called Rookwood Commons, which has a lot of restaurants and may be a good place to hit a couple hours early before the signing. here is a link to a list of the restaurants in the area. www.shoprookwood.com/rookwood-commons/merchants/list/categories.aspxMy editor will be in town so I may be ending up at PF Chang's (a somewhat high-end Chinese restaurant) or The Pub (a mid-range English pub style restaurant) More reasonable priced but good food is Max & Erma's and Five Guys (I've heard the burgers are great but I haven't been to 5 Guys yet) Buca di Beppo has been raved as amazing Italian with very large portions. If you're downtown and want to spend mad cash and have an amazing meal, I suggest Boi Na Braza -- its a Brazillian steakhouse that is to die for. Unfortunately, it costs around $50 per person to start. Yet, I think it's worth every penny. Also downtown and more reasonably priced is Rock Bottom Brewery just off Fountain Square. Good food and if you like beer, it's naturally a good place to hit. From downtown, you should be able to reach the signing in less than 10 minutes. One last suggestion. If you're across the river in Northern Kentucky, suggest to your friend to hit Main Strasse Village. This is Kim's Hollows. Main Street is a strip of small shops and amazing little bars. Chez Nora is on corner of Main Street. Good, inexpensive food and live music on the second floor. You can also then hit some of the other bars along the strip such as Cock & Bull, the Village Pub, and the Strasse House. I hope this is a good starting point.

Mm, Buca di Beppo is tasty. We have some of those here in CA.
Okay today's question is simple since I really have no energy or motivation to come up with a good question.
What is your favorite girl scout cookie?
Peanut Butter Patties all the way for me.

I like Samoas (sp). My daughter is in Girl Guides (canada's girl scouts) and they don't sell the same kinds of cookies - I MISS Girl Scout Cookies! They might be almost 5 bucks a box, but they are so good.

Another question related to my weekend...
Would you rather fly, drive, or travel by some other means somewhere?
I would rather drive 6 hours home than fly but this weekend was a bit of a last minute emergency trip so I took the plane. Lots of turbulence on the way back here, so we didn't get any refreshments >.< At least it's only a one hour flight!
ETA: I have a formspring, which is basically a page where you can ask questions. I've put the link in my signature. I will more or less answer any question as long as it isn't too inappropriate lol. I have a certain image to maintain!

this is a question for the writery types here on the board: have you ever had a dream that you remembered when you woke up to the point where it would make a good story and so you started writing it? or just gotten inspiration for something from a dream and just went?

Oooooh, I've never had a dream that started a story but I've had dreams that intersected with a story I've worked on. It was creepy and I can still remember it in detail to this very day. *shudder*

*laughs* I've done both ... I've got one story that I need to work on in script format cause it is much more visually stunning and you just need to see it kind of thing and then the one this morning would make a great story ... and I've had others where it was like, this fight scene would be GREAT at this point in this book.

Lots of questions!
1. Would much rather fly than drive, but will drive to save money as long as it is under 6 hours by car.
2. I have never had a dream that would apply to a book. My dreams are utter nonsense. Now, I've had plenty of daydreams before falling asleep that help me write my books.
3. There are a lot of places I would love to go, most depending on my mood. As we are still stuck in winter, I can only dream of a warm beach in Fiji. Otherwise, I would love to see Budapest; Venice; and Machu Picchu, Peru.

When you read a book, or are writing something, what are your MUST HAVE items that you absolutely have to have with you?
I always need to have a drink with me. At all times. Usually it's a big cup of water but I also like tea and coffee.

oooooooo... ummmmmm ... hmmmmmm .... I don't think I really have anything that I HAVE to have with me ... not even a drink. at least not when I'm reading. when I'm writing, I HAVE to have like 3 different pens ... different colors too. well, more outlining than straight writing, I guess. and I can write almost anywhere, though if it's too loud, I can concentrate, so Panera during busy hours is bad, but if I happen to stop in when it's slow, I'll sit and write for a while. hmmmm ... I guess, I just need a notebook and pens. sometimes the binder that's got the "finished" story if I'm working on edits. bah ... I've got too many stories.

I don't need anything but a comfortable spot to read in.
When writing, I need my laptop, a comfortable and preferrably quiet spot, and my iPod.

There is one thing i NEED when i'm reading...it's earplugs. It's necessary at home, because (this might sounds crazy) but there are no doors between rooms in my house. So from my room I can hear anyone anywhere, which means that parents talking, TV on...they made for some difficult reading. So earplugs it is, I've become a bit addicted in fact, I can hear my heartbeat while reading, it's very...calming. (<====crazy lady)

Lol, earplugs? I could've used a pair of those in the dorms!!
okay uhmmmmm.....can you tell I haven't thought about questions lately? lol.
Do you collect anything?
I collect the Nancy Drew PC games. I have been playing them, and collecting them, since I was a kid. I have my aunt to thank for this. She sent me the very first game as a birthday or christmas present (my birthday is only a couple days b4 christmas so i can't ever remember!) and I've been hooked ever since then! I own all 21 games and I have beaten them all except for numbers 19 and 20.
