I'm ok with any supernatural beings except faes.. I can't stand their world... Few authors manage to captivate me with the fae worlds.. but it's not something I really like

I have a book called The Writer's Digest Character Naming Sourcebook, which is where I get most of my names. I keep a running list of male and female names from the book that I like and would like to use.
The character roles are developed as the plot of the book progresses. The roles are created to match the needs of the plot and the other characters.

It's not often that I get to write my own random questions to the crowd but I've got an interesting one for you.... Suppose I was to start a new series, a new urban fantasy series, and the main character(s) was not a vampire, what would you like to see me write about? Would you only read my vampire books? What creature are you not interested in? The truth is that I am fine-tuning a new series at the moment, but I'm not spilling anything yet. The world has been set and so are the characters. However, I've learned that planning ahead is a good thing. So, what do you want me to write? Wow, it's not often that this question is asked! Personally, I'd love to get a peek at some magic- like witches, elemental mages, etc. I would def. read your other books! I love almost everything in urban fantasy- from vampires to werewolves and shapeshifters, magic, demons, faeries...I will give it all a shot! What I am not interested in is not so much creatures as ideas or themes. I'm not really into erotica as I'm more into plot and storylines than romance (although I have been known to pick up a romance or two every now and then....sssh!). So to sum up...if you're doing a brand new series, I'd like to see something completely new and unrelated to your current series with Mira. I'm not a huge fan of spinoff series- I'm not sure why, but they don't appeal to me very much.

I think I find that I like fallen angels and demons. Although as I say that I guess you have those elements in the darkdays series (in a way). So that wouldn't be something new. I also LOVE fantasy - elves, mages, witches..etc. I read a fabulous book called the Fire Lords Lover - it's fantasy/historical romance. Elves who rule 18th century england. I loved it. Something with a building romance like between danaus and mira. I AM big fan of romance in a series. Even if it's just all angst and not much action! lol I absolutely look forward to reading to your next series. Although, *sob* I'll be bummed if there isn't going to be any more Dark Days!

It's been too long since I've asked a question.
Pick up any book, turn to page 32, and tell us: What is the 7th line (and I do mean line, not sentence) and what is the title and author of the book?
"...mustard yellow phone and put it back on the wall. Ugly, but at...", from Dirty Little Secrets by CJ Omololu, my most recent read. Fabulous book, I highly recommend it.

That was fun! I won't be able to ask questions very often anymore due to school starting up very soon. I would also LOVE it if some of you guys asked your own random questions for us all to answer! What are you going to be for Halloween? Describe your costume for us please! I recently saw the music video for "Call Me When You're Sober" by Evanescence, and I absolutely loved their concept for Amy Lee as little red riding hood. I am going to be a gothic little red riding hood this year. I'm fortunate in that I've got a lot of stuff I can use in my costume already in my possession. I have a full Ren Faire costume, so I'm using the black skirt from that, as well as the black corset-like top I got from Hot Topic for last year's costume. Over that I am wearing my red bodice from my renfaire garb, and I have a red cloak. I've got some awesome red and red-pink rose hairpins, and I just need a necklace and a wooden basket to complete it! My friend gave me these awesome black socks with a red lace print up the front that i'll probably wear with my black suede boots. I'M SO EXCITED FOR HALLOWEEN!! I love dressing up. Would you only read my vampire books? What creature are you not interested in? I would totally read other books! I would say that it very much depends on how the creatures are portrayed. I keep an open mind and would probably pick up the book, regardless what you choose to write about. However, I can not imagine anybody pulling off a novel about Zombies or something like that without making me feel disgusted. So, no zombie heroes everything else should be fine

Freedom---I don't usually dress up anymore for Halloween . None of close friends really do parties or what not...plus don't have the self-confidence since I gained weight to wear the costumes that I'd want to wear. I like the goth red riding hood idea!

This isn't a question, but I wanted to put this somewhere you'd see it.
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Ooops! I'm sorry, but I guess I do have a question. I noticed on the homepage of your website that there is profile shot of a woman's face. She looked to me to be Amy Brenneman. I was wondering if that was how you saw Mira -- Amy Brenneman with red hair? Or, if not, do you picture anyone in particular for her and your other characters?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all who celebrate it!
I have to admit that I don't have a particular picture in my head of what Mira really looks like. I like the image that the art dept came up with for Mira on the covers, but is that really Mira? It works for me, but I honestly don't have my own image.
