I hope y'all had a nice weekend! I saw absolutely no one- spent all day and evening by myself doing nothing and sat by the window and actually worked on a rewrite of an old story and had 2 mikes hard pomegranate lemonades.
What did you do for your Fourth of July? If you're not in the States, what did you do this weekend?

Wow, has it really been 2 weeks since the last question?! Here is your next question: What is one thing that has changed your life? Harry Potter. Some may laugh, but I can honest to god say that I would not be who I am today if it were not for HP. My love for this series had me online perusing The Leaky Cauldron, the number one harry potter news and fansite, and I met some truly fabulous people and have made friendships to last a lifetime. I've had some amazing experiences, from the midnight book and movie releases to meetups, and it's been pretty fab experience life through HP and the friends I've made! I know, I know. Go ahead, laugh if you must

Having kids-- LOL I'm not going to get all mushy here-- even though I love them to death. They are 16, 17 and 10 now. First, no one told me that as soon as the baby comes out my boobs would become...like they belong to someone else. BAHAHAHA In many ways having kids made me into a more confident person and later as they grew it made me appreciate the differences in people, and how cool it is the we are not all carbon copies of each other.
I'm not laughing at you Freedom Star-- books make differences in our lives- they make us think, and give us new ideas:)

I would have to saw that mine is my younger brothers. I am very protective of them and at the same time, they have taught me compassion, laughter, and a need to just relax and take things in stride.

Jocelynn, wasn't sure if you'd get a chance to reply seeing as how you're in San Diego! (it is absolutely killing me that ComicCon is a mere 2 hour drive from me and I can't go >.<)
Next question! What is the last dream that you can remember?
I ask this because I had a terrible nightmare about a ghost story last night- a ghost story that i had never heard of, one that I think my unconscious mind created. And it scared me so badly that I woke up with my heart pounding like it had been in the dream and I had to switch on the light and read a couple more chapters of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies until I felt that I wouldn't go into a panic if I turned the lights out. :/ Sometimes I marvel at my fear of ghosts and the paranormal, and how I can read urban fantasy and not have nightmares about the books that I read!

Odd enough, I had a ghost dream. I was in the house I grew up in as a child and there was a new family now, but they were complaining about how haunted it was. I even saw some of the ghosts. It didn't scare me. It was just .... strange.

Mrsj, I also saw Inception on Fri night! It was absolutely fantastic- prob my new favorite movie, which is saying a lot b/c i have never had a favorite movie before. Okay, your next random question... When you are waiting impatiently for the release of a book, how early do you start checking stores? I usually hit up the bookstores on the sunday before release date- so two days before. (Got Wait for Dusk today as well as Eternal Kiss of Darkness)

I've not talked to my editor about a date yet, but they usually schedule me for summer. So I am expecting July or August 2011. This is still tenative. I will confirm a date when I hear one.

It's not often that I get to write my own random questions to the crowd but I've got an interesting one for you....
Suppose I was to start a new series, a new urban fantasy series, and the main character(s) was not a vampire, what would you like to see me write about?
Would you only read my vampire books?
What creature are you not interested in?
The truth is that I am fine-tuning a new series at the moment, but I'm not spilling anything yet. The world has been set and so are the characters. However, I've learned that planning ahead is a good thing. So, what do you want me to write?

Jocelynn, if you write UF, I'll buy and read it . Shapeshifters, mage, necros, witches, etc. Don't have a particular fave . Can't wait to see what is next after Dark Days!

I was wondering where you came up with the character's names in the book and their roles? Did you do it like "hmmm Danaus sounds like a mysterious name I'll make him the vampire hunter" lol or something like that?
