the book is totally awesome and deffinitely glad i didn't have a long wait in between books. i do have a few questions that have been and are adding up now in the series and let a lil discussion join in.
question 1. what did nick mean when he said "would-be" bori about danaus? did all bori start off like he did and get infected through birth such as he did or were they their own race? is there a way that danaus could still become a full bori?
question 2. with the new addition of stefan to the council of elders does jabari now start to worry about mira taking control of the coven like he had originally intended? she now has 2 major players on her side. i believe stefan will be on her side since she did everything he asked of her and more.
question 3. now that rowe and mira has had a temporary truce do they become more not so much as friendly, but more of an alliance against the war that is brewing? in most cases the times mira has ran across rowe in the last few books it has been near groups of naturi that have not wished to fight. he did show a soft side by not killing nor taking mira while she slept. i could be mistaken, but when he took mira originally i thought he just disapperaed so couldn't he have done that to take her this time? seems more like he is torn between his love for aurora and not agreeing with her method of taking over the world. they also told each other to take care when they parted when mira allowed him to escape much to his suprise.
question 4. this is my biggest question of them all. where is the vampire leige? i cannot believe with all the war that is brewing that he has not been around for this entire campaign.
(ran our of room will continue on the next post)

i feel as theough the leige has been there throughout the entire campaign, but hid his true powers so that nobody would know who he truly was until he finds out who he can trust and who needs to be eliminated. it would have to be an ancient that has shown no wants to be in charge of anything and has not shown their full powers. that only really leaves one vampire in mind of who is the leige in my opinion. valerio. he has suprised mira many times by showing portions of his powers throughout the books and she has figured out just how truly powerful and dangerous he is. she knows he has numerous abilities that there is no way that he should have without being an ancient and still to this point has no idea of how far those powers stretch. he has all of these powers and everyone knows where his domain is, but he does not even want to claim keeper there. what other ancient would be in charge of a major european city without claiming it as their own? i could be way off base, but i just feel as though he is the leige, but will not show his true abilities until the nightwalkers work together and he knows who to depend on. if this is the case then mira and stefan would become the most powerful 2 nightwalkers on the coven immediately due to they risked their lives to save him.

Hmmm.... Do you actually want me to chime in here or should I let you discuss things? I think I will chime in a little bit.
1. As far as I know, Danaus cannot become a bori. The closest he can become is a meat suit for Gaizka. Nothing more than puppet. Nick was just trying to be insulting.
2. The only balance on the Coven at the moment is the idea that everyone is out for their own interests. Jabari and Mira are fighting. Stefan only agrees with Mira on the naturi, otherwise he can't stand her. And Elizabeth... she's always had her own game plan.
3. Rowe. Ahh... Rowe. See Burn the Night. But I will reiterate, he does not love Aurora. He is loyal to her and loves his people, but he bears Aurora no love. That was a match of power, not love, when they were bound together.
4. Our Liege. I am reluctant to say this but you may never get the chance to meet him in the books. Valerio is a good fit, but it's not him. You have not met him yet. If I don't get the chance to introduce him in Burn the Night, then I will try to pull together a nice short story so that you can get a taste of him. I've known him for a very long time and he's his own pile of trouble.

Who said Mira would give Danaus a choice ? If the choses were
1 The Bori returning and Mira and her Race becoming badly treated pets. (Not even Slaves BUT PETS!) 2 Killing Danaus. 3 Changing Danaus into a Vampire.
Do you think she would pick 1 2 or 3? And lets face facts it could come to that. Mira Strikes me as the Practical Sort. And she would have forever to win his forgiveness. Then there relationship could indeed work . After Danaus forgave her.

Mira was kicking ass and taking names. Man, was she awesome. Seriously.
I had a bad feeling about Trisan-- he always had this tragic vibe to me for some reason, right from the first time he was in the books.
I loved the book-- but for some reason I'm still "digesting" it all. I have to say, though I really loved getting Danaus's point of view, I was glad to have Mira back. I love being inside her head:)

And she would have forever to win his forgiveness. Then there relationship could indeed work . After Danaus forgave her. I just wanted to say that in my opinion I think she would pick 3. After reading Wait for Dusk with the whole use Danaus's powers or I will turn you human, it made me realize that yea maybe Mira doesn't want to control Danaus, force him against his will, and make him mad at her but if it comes down to her getting a beating from Nick or her turning human again she would do it in a heartbeat. Mira isn't the type to always help people if she wasn't getting something out of it. So if she let the bori back out she would be a pet with no freedom what so ever so that option is eliminated and if she killed the man she loved she would be unhappy so that option is eliminated too. It only leaves turn him into a vampire because even if he doesn't like it, it still works out for him but most importantly for her too, and like dragondeathlord said they would have eternity. (But this is only if it came down to these three options. I honestly hope it doesn't because I do not want Danaus to become a vampire)

You're right....But I don't think Mira will be a first blood anymore. I think she will be a chum.

If Mira was changed human, she could have another vamp change her, but she'd be at the bottom of the vampire food chain again, making her extremely vulnerable.
But what if she could escape as a human? Could she be happy with a life together with Danaus? A normal, quiet life? Would that be their chance at happily ever after?

And becoming First Blood Hurts like a mother f#$%er and take several years. And you need some one a plus 1000 years old to pull it off. Valerio would do it but with Nick being A GOD there be no point since he would stop it or wait till it was done with all that pain and laugh and rehumanize her with a snap of his fingers. It pretty clear that it's easy for him. On top of all that Nick said if he turns her human it's to rape her get her pregnant and kill her off as a failure and start over with the kid. Talk about a WORK Incentive speech!
Become all you can be or I screw in Every Possible way.
On the other hand Become More powerful and serve Me and I will Make You A GODDESS!
That's the Stick and the Carrot. (One Heck of a Stick and One Heck of a Carrot)
Mira Not so interested in the carrot so Her Dad pushing the stick, But some how I can see Mira Interested in the Carrot sooner or later.
I mean If what Nick was Telling her was True She got wonder What that means. She's a Race She never even Knew about. A thing only Crazy People Dare Dream about that her Vampirism Might be redonant ? That she's a Bady God!
But the Fact is Even if She Kept all her Power and Immortality as Human(Goddess) She would not want to become Human as being a KnightWalker is part of her Identity. And as screwed up as they are there her people and Family ( I mean as in Community not as it Small house hold answering to her). She likes who she is and would not Change it.
But to become a Vampire GOD..
Got to be making her think twice Sooner or later.
As I said thats one Heck of a Carrot! Mira I think is more like her Dad than she realizes, Or maybe she dose Know but I wonder if Danaus knows.
I wish this Book universe jocelynn created would go on a dozen more books at least not the mere 6 Contracted. I suspect that given 6 more books Mira would become a True Great Epic Villain the type that gets to become Legend like Darth Vader, Lady MacBeth Mordred or a Tamora.
Mira reminds me of a Gentler Tamora ,Queen of the Goths.
Mira Very real becouse there a real potential for evil in this hero.

But what if she could escape as a human? Could she be happy with a life together with Danaus? A normal, quiet life? Would that be their chance at happily ever after? Trying to tease Us Or scare us Jocelynn? We both know she can't find happiness that way, not possible. First the practical Problems she knows to much,Far to much and all her old Enemys would come for her. She would Die. Even with the Hunter she would die. Second she Not Human. She was Never human. She was meant to be something closer to Nick. So she can not be turned into a Human just a creature that looks human but is far more removed in time.A Æsir, a pagan god. three Danaus Mr.Holy crusader would have more problems with that than her being a vampire. Heck technically Danaus is right ,If Nick inspired Satan's Legend She would be Danaus's Antichrist were she chose to be evil or not. She pleasant in form (like Lamb) Very old (the prophesy in classic form demands the Antichrist being at least 800 to 900 years old. But being a Vampire is a Deal breaker unless She was suddenly Human. Witch would Bother Danaus more her being a Pagan God or the Christian Antichrist? Most hard core Christians would hate proof of Pagan gods more as it challengers there Belief. Some Christian Fundamentalists and Orthodox Groups are tort to prey for the coming of the Antichrist as it would mean the Second coming of Jesus Was at hand. fourth Danaus is more Vampire like than Human he can find peace with a creature that shares that with him. Not a human. Fifth but not least Mira Not Human psychologically.(not in the least,One thinks I enjoy about Your character.)She a well adjust individual, She likes who she is and after nearly 850 of thinking a certain way(humans are food, those that challenge me die, Be a good hunter and protect the Herd of humans.Be a good keeper.) Well she be crazy if she stayed sane as a human. sixth She likes being a NightWalker it how she sees her self. Like I see my self as a New age shop owner And Minster. Or you as a Author. Take that away and there would be no happy ever after for Mira. She could be happy with Danaus but she would not be Mira nor happy with her self.As that Self is being all rapped up with being a Nightwalker. And it would not exist. She not thank Gods Winy Vampire wanting to be Human. So sick of those. Reminds me of Years ago when I read Digital Justice Batman was a Computer with Bruce Waynes memorys and Joker was a Computer Virus. Joker destroys the one Memory of Bruce's Parents being Murdered and he no longer abler to function Because he no longer Batman he's nothing. And he crashes. Mira like that she a Vampire (She is Thee Vampire! The KEEPER of HER City!) Take that away and it would be like if You could no longer write. You would exist kind of but would you be you? Your mate could try and make you happier and he would but would You be Happy really? Never Able to write again? Never allowed to be you? And Be the thing your good at? There a Idea in Asia that we all got one Destiny we are good at and if we turn are backs on are destiny (we can it's not hard) we are Hollow. But if we find that Destiny We find happiness and we are good at it. So a Guy might have the chance to be a King but if his calling is to be say a Great Carpenter then he's a Fool to waist his talent and will be miserable as a King. Wear he would of found Happiness other wise. Mira Found her thing she's good at.... And it's not human and she found happiness doing it. Seven Mira Becoming Human is just to Starcaft 2 / DeZerged Kerrigan to stomach.

But what if she could escape as a human? Could she be happy with a life together with Danaus? A normal, quiet life? Would that be their chance at happily ever after? Mira would not be happy being just human, but she never really was "just" human. She felt weak because she did not understand what she was and was terrified of what she was capable of. We have to remember that even when she was still part human she manifested an extraordinary ability to create and manipulate fire. Who knows what her lifespan would have been even without changing to a nightwalker, or what other abilities she may have developed; as it is (with a boost from Nick) she is already displaying new abilities. I think this is what Nick was getting at. I believe that her lifespan would have been just as long without the change and from what Nick was raging on about, he expected her powers to evolve. I think that were she to revert to her state before the change to nightwalker, Mira would not be defenseless and I don't see many a nightwalker volunteering to change her back since she already terrifies them just because of her firestarting ability. I think Danaus would probably choose a demigod Mira over a nightwalker who depends on the blood of the humans he so treasures. I think the blood issue bothers him since it highlights the predator part of Mira. He already sees the goodness in her even as a nightwalker; take away the blood/predator issue and maybe they have a chance. Maybe the good he sees in her will be enough for him to get over the fact that her father is also known as the Fallen.

But so much of who she is ,is the Keeper of her city could she do that as a human? And the pleasure of feeding greater than what any human can know could she just forget that? Sorry I just think she would go nuts. After being a Vampire 800 years to become a Living creature and lose all that she is would not make her happy. No matter who she's with.
