So, for all the lovers of Knox and the would-be lovers of Knox, I have to know.... am I not giving him enough face time in the books?
In that little scene with them alone in the car together, should Knox have asked Mira out?
If Mira were to become romantically involved, who is the best match? Knox? Danaus? Or her old flame Valerio?

Since Unbound I have a slight bias for Knox just being there. I like his character because compared to everyone else he seems...well "normal." I like the little flirtations that Knox and Mira has together. I think over time they would make a nice couple handling business in Savannah.
Mira and Danaus, they both got too many issues and demons to work through. For a partnershsip, mutual understanding, or even friendship I could see it working out fine. Lovers...minus a one night stand, I can't see it happening on a long term basis. They'll end up killing each other.
I can't see her back with Valerio again. It seems like from the novels what happened in the past stays in the past.

I seriously DOUBT Mira will ever get a "happily ever after" with any man - and how boring would that be?
That being said, I am completely and utterly biased when it comes to Danaus. I want them to have a deep connection - I can't wait for them to finally see one another as a man and a woman. *swoon*
In the mean time - I'm super curious with Valerio - tell me more! I wouldn't mind reading some of that! I kind of like their bantering. Sort of a love/hate thing going on - more hate and distrust which I find delicious.
Knox- I can't say, I haven't read the anthology. Must. Read. Anthology. argh!

bad newfie ... go read the anthology.
hmmmmmmm...I'm kinda on the fence about everything. I would love to see more of Knox, get to know him a little better, get inside his head, but I want that with all the characters I like. But, on the other hand, I'm one of those people that I don't like it when an author tries to do something just to please their fans. so, no, I don't think Knox has gotten enough face time, but it's obviously been enough for me to fall in love with his character already, so maybe it's just the right amount. And I did love the glimpses you gave in the short story.
Knox and Mira dating ... just would not work for me. I liked the light playful teasing that they did have, but anything serious between them just wouldn't work. Simple reason, Mira is his boss and he respects her as such. hell, if I remember right (I might not, it's early and I just woke up) Knox admitted to being afraid of her power over fire (*goes to double check* yep, not totally crazy ... awesome). He did also say that she wouldn't go bat shit crazy on everyone and light them up for the hell of it, but there is still that edge of fear there for him added on top of the 'she is his superior'. Them trying to have an equal relationship just wouldn't work. Sure, Mira gives Knox more responsibility when she goes jetting off, but it seems like he dropped right back into where he's always been with her when she came back (sorry, just haven't had time to read Dawnbreaker yet, so I can't say for sure. Just what I've read in the first chapter) - at her side and about one pace behind. I could possibly see them doing a friends with benefits, but I don't think that would satisfy Knox for very long. Though, I could see them as being FWB for a while, then one or both going off to have a different lover for some time, but eventually always going back to one another. That could work, but it'd be delicate, but I think they might both just be mature enough to realize that just because they sleep with someone else, doesn't mean they don't still have feelings for the other. So maybe that would be more than FWB, but I don't know what it would really be classified as. And you can tell that they do have feelings for each other, but what exactly still isn't clear.
Mira romantically involved with someone. Her with anyone would be hot, no matter what. Already stated my feelings on Knox above. With Danaus, there is a whole nother set of intricate details to pay attention to. Yes, they are starting to trust each other some, but anytime anything threatens that trust, it goes crumbling and they start thinking the other one betrayed them and whole big mess. Of course, this has only been for a couple weeks, but I have heard that some of the fiercest bonds of trust and loyalty are built in combat situations, and if their bonds can be destroyed by just the slightest hinting of betrayal, it would take them a REALLY long time to get where they would really trust one another so completely. It looked like we were getting some headway into the real trust that wasn't so fragile (again, haven't read Dawnbreaker yet, so can't say much for sure). Danaus also has hundreds of years of hatred and mistrust to overcome. and I think Mira has been helping with that, but there's only so much that a single representative can do for the wrongs that have been painted for her entire species. I think I've posted before where Danaus could think that Mira may not be the rule for nightwalkers, but the exception to the rules that he's been taught for so many years. so even if he does trust her, he could still have that hatred and mistrust for her people, and that would wear and tear on their relationship and then they'd ultimately end up killing each other. but it'd still be hot to see Mira shove Danaus up against a wall cause she's mad at him for something and have him end up pinning her against the wall instead and, well, heat and passion for one thing can sometimes easily be manipulated into something else. Angry Rival Wall Sex(or snogging) For The Win.
Valerio? There is the appeal to know more about him, and about her time with him, and Mira did seem more relaxed with him, but there was just something ... I don't know. I really can never see Mira moving back to Europe ... unless something with her taking the coven seat....Valerio helping to protect her from them...that could be interesting. Him being a coven flunky for her would be most amusing, but them in a relationship would still work, because (again, if I'm remembering right) he is older than she is and therefore more powerful, so even though Mira has the higher status, Valerio would never be beneath her. That might be interesting.
and now I've used up all of my morning internet time and half my shower time, so gotta jet.

Danaus should definetly be Mira's mate. Can anyone else even come close to being her equal. They are drawn to each other regardless of their past or present circumstances. It's a fight within themselves, but what I would give to be a fly in that room when they give in to their hidden desires for one another.
