How long did it take you to write your first book?

The first completed draft of Nightwalker took about four months. However, the revision stage saw the book take on many changes and that stretched for nearly two years as I attempted to acquire an agent. Now, it takes me anywhere from two months to six months to write a book, depending on the number of other projects I am working on and interruptions.

What inspired you to start writing?

I don't know if I would use the word "inspire." I have always been a lover of books. I love reading. I love escaping into a good story, regardless of what it is. I was about 12 when I read a great re-telling of Robin Hood. I loved it, but I thought of another version while reading it. So after reading the book, I pulled out an old notebook that had some blank pages, and started writing my story. I did that constantly. My parents were always on my case about getting out of the house, but I ignored them, spending all my free time sitting on my bed, writing in my notebook. It took almost all summer. By the time school started, I had more and more stories running through my head. I was writing constantly, dozens of stories over all the different genres. It was never about sharing the stories or getting published. I was just writing these stories because I couldn't stop it. If I didn't write them then my brain would get flooded with stories. It wasn't until I was nearly out of high school that even started worrying about the proper way to tell a story and it wasn't until I got my first publishing contract that I let myself dream about getting published. For me, it has always just been about telling an interesting story.

I have read all the books and I was wondering if there was a chance these books would go to movie. I would like to see how it plays out in live action.

I would have to say pretty slim. There are thousands of books released every year that are never produced, so it's a pretty hard thing to have done in the first place. No one has contacted me from a production company with interest in the series. Sorry.
