At first i would like to congratulate you for the awesome "The Dark Days Series". I started with the first two books in German. But i was unwilling to wait for the translation so i grabbed the other books in English. I already saw that there is a new series in planning/making and i will look forward to read it. So regarding my English, please keep in mind it is not my native tongue :)
But back to my topic...
At the end of "The dark days series" i was hoping for a follow up. The time after "burn the night" seems to be so exciting that it would be a shame to let it go.
So far i don't know any vampire novel that describes the transition from a secret non-human society to an integrated public non-human society (if you know any please tell me).
The days, weeks, months, years after a media-accident like the great awakening must be worth a story. For both humans and on-humans the changes would be stunning. At first, fear would reign on both sides. The non-humans go into hiding, while the humans would try to find out what exactly they witnessed. But after the initial culture shock - what then? The interlinked character of the human world holds chances and problems during the times of change. How will people react? violence and fear or curiosity and dialog? - How will the governments react? - Cover it up or reveal it all and force the non-humans out to the public? - Which laws would the non-humans have to follow? And the most important question how would the characters of the novels life through this time of change? How do these changes impact their life? Which are their new goals and how do they realise em?
Come on you have to admit - a chapter about mira on a late night talk show on national tv would make you smile
I would love to read about these times of transition when both worlds collide and need to change radical to adapt and survive. So far this is the untouched realm of the vampire genre. Many vampire stories take the vampire secret society as a fact and untouchable truth. You on the other hand wrote a vampire story where the process of revealing was a goal of such a society. That’s why i am pretty sure you have also thought about the transition. The new series plays in a world of coexistence. The old series plays a world of secrecy. So in a few years when you have finished the new series you have a detailed version of both society concepts.
With this post i hope to encourage and maybe inspire you to tackle the unknown and think about a third series (maybe as a follow up of "the dark days", maybe not) that would describe the transition of a secret non-human society to an integrated public non-human society. Of course i see the problems regarding plot, write style and perception that are within such a setting. Above all i don’t know if the typical reader of vampire novels would like to read it - i am no market analyst.
Still i hope you consider this idea. I promise i will buy it.
looking forward to read more from you

Sidenote: after reading around in the forum a lot i am relieved that i am not the only male in here :) - i was scared by the first impression
