So, I was lucky enough to meet the wonderful Lynsay Sands at my first RWA a few years ago. I was a brand new author, looking terrified by all the big, amazing, popular authors that surrounded me as we headed to our publisher's party. She and Kim Harrison were kind enough to take me under their wings and help wipe the terrified look off my face. Both ladies are amazingly sweet and wonderful.
And then I started to read her Argeneau series.... Whoa. Not only is she sweet and funny, but also brilliant. If you are looking for a whole new take on the vampire/immortal theme, check out her books.

I have to admit that I've only picked up the stories for Lucian and Marguerite, so I am now trying to decide which ones to pick up next. She has a new one called "The Reluctant Vampire" which is due out on May 31. I really want to pick this one up.

This one threw me for a loop. (I will admit that I haven't read the whole thing yet) The opening made it sound like she was matching up two immortals (the first 2 you meet) and then it turns out she's matching up two others. Now, after reading the first few chapters I quickly overcame my initially disappointment when I realized that I was mentally matching up the wrong two people.
However, I have to admit that I really want Anders story. He's dark and silent and brooding, and apparently I have a serious weakness for the dark, silent, brooding types (just ask Danaus). I wish I could get the same weak-in-the-knees feeling with the nice, sweet, funny, outgoing guy, (and I have read many great books that feature that type of guy) but there is just something about watching the reluctant hero falling in love. (insert ultra-feminine swooning sound)
Any thoughts? Read these books? Which would you recommend? Who is your favorite character?
