Hey Jocelynn! Did you find about what they're going to let you write? Tattoos or PNR stand alones?

Any clues on your new series, or is it still developing?

I did receive good news last week, but I'm not permitted to talk about it just yet as there are still a few things that are being discussed/negotiated/worked out/planned. I will be posting a blog on future plans soon. I will double post it on the discussion board when it goes up.

The last of the snow has finally melted away here in Kentucky and the tulips are in bloom. The trees are starting to show a splash of green and lawn mowers are starting to echo through the subdivision. I’m ready to declare that spring is here at long last. Spring is a time of rebirth and new beginnings. During the winter, I finished the last of the edits for Burn the Night: the Final Dark Days Book and with the first signs of spring I started a new series that has been sold to HarperCollins.
The Tattoo Artist
The title of the series is just a working title so I have something to save the files under on the computer and is subject to change. Also considering that the first book hasn’t hit my editor’s desk, things in the books are still subject to change. However, I can try to give you some highlights.
With the new series, I wanted to do a sharp change for the Dark Days world. Where everything is hidden and secret in the Dark Days series, everything in the Tattoo Artist world is out in the open. The world was broken open centuries ago and now elves, faeries, trolls, werewolves, and dozens of other creatures walk free and happy among the humans. They live in relative harmony with each other. However, there is one group that hovers like a dark shadow over the rest: the warlocks and the witches. These magic users are dangerous and cruel, monitoring the use of magic by anyone other than themselves. They are the gatekeepers, the judges, and ultimately, the executioners.
Now understandably, the humans would occasionally feel at a disadvantage in this world filled with other magical creatures. They would need to find their own edge here. So they turn to the tattoo artists. Tattoo artists are more than just artists of the flesh. They are also potion stirrers, putting them outside the realm of the warlocks. Need a little good luck? Want love? Want revenge? The right ingredients mixed in the ink along with the right symbol etched into the skin can get you your heart’s desire. Of course, this all comes with a price.
The series follows the tattoo artists at the Asylum as they encounter some interesting clients and battle their own demons.
So far, two books have been sold for this series and there is an interest for a pair of novellas to be released along with the books set in the same world. I am currently chipping away at the first book. No release date has been officially discussed, but I believe we are aiming to keep me on the same release schedule that I am currently on, so we are looking at the first book being released in Summer 2012.

haven't had time to get over here recently to say this, but the new book series sounds amazing. And as sad as I am to see the Dark Days wrap up, I'm super excited for the new series as well, and can't wait to get my greedy little hands on it.
also, any chances of Angry Rival Wall Sex in the new books???
*wanders off cackling*

I don't know if im going to like the book based on the description but you can't judge a book by its cover. And i absolutely loved your other books so I'm going to give it a try!

Thanks. You never know what to expect when you read those short descriptions. I mean I always describe the Dark Days series as: A vampire and a vampire hunter are forced to work together to stop an evil race from killing mankind. I feel like that's been done a hundred times and yet people still like it. This new series feels fresher to me, somewhat like uncharted territory. Wish me luck. I've just heard from my editor and she really likes the first book.

The first book has been handed in, revised, and accepted. I am just waiting to move along to the next stage: copyedits. I have finished the rough draft of the first short story and handed it in. I have just finished the second short story. I have to look over it today before shipping it off to my editor. From there, I have to: 1. Think of a title for the first book 2. Think of a series name 3. Plot and write the second book before February
In the meantime, I thinking about posting some snippets from what I've been working on.
