In this book, Stefan and Mira use a spell called The Stain (if I am remembering correctly) when she and the nightwalkers were trapped at the hotel outside of Machu Picchu. The Stain kills anything that moves within its boundaries. She slaughtered dozens of naturi and could have very easily killed helpless tourists if they had come to the hotel. It was a huge risk that could have had catastrophic consequences. While unknown at the time, she also risked Danaus's life?
Did Mira take too big of a change with The Stain? Was there another way?

It's a risk Mira has to take.. Being vulnerable during the daylight and leaving Danaus alone to deal with the Naturi in the day is as good as leaving Danaus and all the nightwalker to their death.
Unless they have a way to stay underground and hidden.. otherwise.. I don't think there seems to be another choice.
Tough to be in Mira's position..

It's not the greatest decision, but I think it's a risk she had to take.

Nah, she did no t go to far! She did what she had too. It would have been unbelievable to think that she and all the nightwalkers were able to find a safe place to stay...
Now, the naturi who kept walking to their death...well, not really sure what to say to that one..

I agree with tookie that there just happened to be a safe place for dozens of vampires? Too unbelievable! This was a very big step to the climax fight. Will they all live, will it work? Definitely needed to be done.
