you make me feel like a bad person... I'm barely squeaking by right now because I missed a day and had to use all the cushion I had to make up for it and then still needed some. work has been kicking my butt and I only get like one day off a week. but at least I'm still keeping up with the word counts. yes, this is my little pep talk for myself ... thanx for noticing. and on that note, I'm going to go pump out 1200 more words.

YOU CAN DO IT!! I have had some practice because this is my third NaNoWriMo, so I know what works for me and what doesn't, what I have to resist (like editing as I go) and how I can get myself 'in the zone' to write. I always try to aim a little higher than the 1667/day because I can build up a cushion for those days that I simply cannot write.
But to be honest, I don't know if I'll reach my personal goal for today. It's looking more like 12000 for today because I've spent the last few hours with my friends making marinara sauce (which was AWESOME!) We shall see!

*laughs* yea I know ... I had almost a whole day cushion going after the first couple days, but then I had to work late and it just messed everything up, and I missed writing for a day and it blew the whole cushion, so two nights ago was catch up and I barely squeaked the goal last night and was up later than I should have been and was cranky at work this morning and now I'm 467 short today, but I really need to go to bed cause I have to get up even earlier tomorrow and already should have been asleep. and I've been fighting getting sick and working two jobs and barely getting one day off in a week is killing me. heck, next week's day off is fucked because job #2 is stupid and told us about a mandatory store meeting on wed ... the meeting is sunday and we just heard about it. it's also at 8am on a fucking sunday. *grumbles and is NOT happy*
so I haven't hit 10K yet and my day off is going to be spent in a meeting at work, doing laundry, and having a family meeting. oh, and I work retail, so if I don't get a cushion going now, and keep it, this whole thing is going to flop big time in about 3 weeks.

Maybe you should set yourself a lower goal? 50,000 might just not be doable with your schedule.
NaNoWriMo progress: 15,686 words. Spent saturday cleaning, so I didn't get to write then but I had a great cushion built up and got in 3000 words yesterday, which I am surprised at because I don't usually sit and write that much in one go.

I am way behind, but I suspected I would be. I spent the past week moving. Then the copyedits for PRAY For DAWN arrived on Thursday, which are due in a couple of weeks. Also, my editor promised the the revision letter for WAIT for DUSK will arrive this week, which would put the final version for the book due in early December. If I'm lucky, I'll hit 25,000 words on Book 6 by the end of November. I'm sad and frustrated. However, I may be able to sneak in a few words here and there now that the house is mostly settled.

sorry ... that was just me being tired and cranky and a little PMS-y. I'm better now, promise. I'm also caught up, almost, for my word goal. only 600 short of where I should be from yesterday and I still have about 2 hours that I can write tonight to work on today's. it's not all that bad, it's just working 2 jobs and getting one day off a week if I'm lucky is really frustrating. but, I have a short shift or two later this week where I can spend the good chunk of a morning one day and the afternoon another doing nothing but writing. so right now, it's still possible. it's just a lot of work. but if I can't do this, then I'll never be able to cut it as an author. Though, I'm fairly certain that Dec will be nothing but work and sleep.
so current word count is 12,734 and not so far off from where I should be. just have to try to break 15,000 tonight.

I am somewhere over 19,500. I think. I'm not getting any writing in today, despite the holiday, because I have an exam tomorrow that I'm spending all day studying for. Buuuut I did do two word wars yesterday with some friends, which helped me get the bulk of my writing done which was nice. 10 minutes for the first one, then 20 minutes for the second. YAY! I love word wars

I've got 19,863 and two more hours that I can write tonight. I'm not even really sure where about 6K of that came from since it was all last night and this morning. I was just really doing good and it felt amazing.
See, it is possible for me. If I were to actually give in and let myself settle for a lower goal, I'd never hit that, using the excuse that I'm just too busy. I just can't keep this kind of schedule with the two jobs and writing this much for very long. Going to try to get at least to 21K tonight, which shouldn't be too hard if I can find that nice little groove I was in early and just ride that for a while longer. 22K is the dream goal for tonight.

Broke 26,000...I am always a tad behind these days. I went to see Hank Green at a nerdfighter event and then watched Iron Man with my friend, so I only got in about 800 words just now. And I think now that I am going to bed because I am exhausted. i will catch up tomorrow!

WOOHOO! We are PAST the halfway point folks! YOU CAN DO IT!! For the past two night, NaNoWriMo has been 'hosting' word sprints over twitter in the evening. A word sprint is basically a time writing session. You just write as much as you possibly can. It helped me get almost 4000 words yesterday, which is twice what I normally write in one night.
So far: word count is 29824 and counting. My personal goal is to hit 50,000 by next saturday so that I can have a day to travel back to school after thanksgiving and scramble my novel in a separate document so that I can submit it to the website.

WOOHOO! congrats. good luck with hitting your goal. I'm unfortunately a little behind. only at 28,020 so far. but I'm starting to burn out real quick with all the writing and working two jobs. 7 days a week is killing me. I haven't had a day off for a week and a half. Won't get a day off until thanxgiving. probably won't have another day off after that until xmas.
