Okay, <looks around> , coast is clear - now for my Q's and comments.
Hmm - where to start.
In the first book Danaus and Mira "hated" each other but were forced to work together, but there was also a chemistry between them. They had a moment in the Office of Themis where they almost kissed, completely forgetting about James. It was very intense, but then it was quickly forgotten. Geesh - I want MORE of that dammit! lmao I do enjoy their slowly built relationship, but it's like one step forward and two steps back. (It's almost killing me wanting to know what is going on in Danaus mind.) They keep teasing each other about "killing each other" but it's so sweet now it's almost a term of endearment. My question is why was there more "connection" scenes in the first book and not as many intimate ones in the second? I understand they didn't KNOW each other and were essentially enemies, I just wanted to know WHY they had that moment at Themis in the first book.
I did enjoy their personal moments in Dawnbreaker though - especially when she helped him breathe after he had his throat crushed. That scene and the scene where she had to talk him into going to sleep was very sweet - I'm sure it took alot for Danaus to trust Mira.
Will Shelly be in the other books? I felt bad she had to leave at the end of the book. I loved her - I don't know why but she was like a ray of sun in the darkness. Everything from her name to her personality was so alien - awesome.
Did Jabari leave Mira out to die? or did he know Danaus would help her?
Oh, and when she woke up in the cave was she alone? Why did Danaus leave her to wake up alone? Where DOES he go when he's off by himself?
I can't believe I ACTUALLY felt bad for Rowe - wow - he was not my favorite character - I enjoyed him as the bad guy, and I could tell he had many layers and wasn't just black/white, but wanted him to be DEFEATED!! I had thought that when Aurora was set free there would be a sickening family reunion, and when there wasn't I was felt really bad for Rowe. Dammit, now I am more interested in him and look forward to seeing him again. hrmph.
I can't think of the other q's, but I'll post them when I do.

Does he have to do certain things to control his "demon"/bori when he disappears. I was shocked at how the bori took control of him, is the bori actually like a different personality? I'm all kinds of confused and curious....
And on a superficial note - I want to know where Danaus lives!! He must have his own house or something, what part of the world does he live in?

All these Danaus questions are making me feel really good about the timing of PRAY FOR DAWN. Yep, very good indeed.
I'm going to let these questions simmer for a while to see if anyone wants to speculate. I'm still debating on what I can answer and what I must hold my tongue about.

I just finished the book, so I'm still reeling from it all lol, but I LOVED it and I'm going to just toss in that I too am curious about Danaus. He's just so interesting!
I kinda felt that Rowe would stick around- you don't go for centuries to free someone, and then just slink off when that someone commands you to. He invested way too much into this to just leave and let Aurora die.

He invested way too much into this to just leave and let Aurora die. I guess I thought Aurora and Rowe were actually lovers - or more connected than they actually are. The way he fought so hard for her it seemed like it was a great love. Apparently it wasn't. Now my question is, does Rowe TRULY loves Aurora or is there something I'm misssing. But then I have to take into account it's been thousands of years since they've seen each other (it's been thousands right? It was 600 years ago when he tried to get her out the last time, but she'd been stuck longer than that right?) Anyway, Rowe just became more interesting after that, especially since he didn't go ahead and kill Mira. Too many questions!!

Ok, favorite Mira-Danaus moment? I know mine was at the end, when she needed his support to close the doors. It was an intimate moment for them, and they just 'connected'. It shows you don't have to be romantically involved with someone to have a deep understanding and connection (which is what I got out of that scene).

My favorite was when Mira had to help Danaus breathe - she was his "anchor" throughout the ordeal. I love how they are equals - both are strong and both have each others back, but they don't try to step over each other to get the job done. One thing I can NOT stand is when the male character goes out of his way to "save" or protect the woman. Blech. They are both very old, have been through God knows what, and have stayed alive through it all on their own, they don't need a "protector". I love it. .

It is so refreshing to have a strong female protagonist, who is a vampire to boot, and she is not chasing after every virile male she comes across and they're not all salivating after her. Mira is my favorite strong female vampire for just that reason- she definitely can hold her own without using her sexuality to get it and I think that is one of the reasons why she and Danaus are so equally balanced.

**Happy author sigh*** I'm glad to hear that you appreciate that about Mira and Danaus's relationship. Of course, if Mira wasn't constantly being hunted down by naturi, I think she would appreciate some of the sex all the other vamps in the other series are enjoying. She is definitely feeling left out.

I really enjoyed the book. I hope to get a little more Tristin in the coming books. For what ever reason I just love him.
I agree about Danaus and Mira's relationship, its complicated.
I think that at some point Mira needs to take something for herself, she worries about everyone else so much I think she has forgot to strive for happiness herself.
I'm also thinking that if she learns to control the earth magic then she will be able to stop being a weapon for everyone else.

I understand they didn't KNOW each other and were essentially enemies, I just wanted to know WHY they had that moment at Themis in the first book. This is kind of what I was thinking. I loved the almost-kiss in the first book, and all the connection in the second - all the hints of her saying neither of them wanted to look at what that other feeling Danaus had was just yet, etc. And then in this book, it seemed to have stepped back a bit. There were those lovely bits where she helped him to breathe, and he trusted her, but there just didn't seem to be the hints of more-ness that there were before.

Didn't you love how it was handled? Mira looked down, saw the arrow in her heart, noticed she was dead, kinda stepped over her and moved on. I LOVED IT. I loved that nobody cared...LOVED LOVED LOVED it. Oh, and I must be the only one - but I don't like Tristan. I can't help it. He was okay in the first book, but in the second book I really wanted him to die. Third book - well, how sad was I that he didn't get eaten by the werewolves.

i like tristan honestly, but it's because i am an underdog fan. he has been outnumbered by vamps in one book and weres in another book, but yet he seems to just make it through. he's classed as a weak character, but always makes it. he is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters due to that fact. he's not a badass and not cocky, but he has miras back and is a great friend to her.
