I was recently asked if I would ever let Dark Days be optioned to be a movie.... see Ask Jocelynn for my answer
But it got me wondering, if it was made into a movie, who would you cast as the actors to play the characters?
I've got a few locked away in my head, but I'm not going to give them away just yet. I want to hear other people's thoughts first.
So.... Who should play Danaus Mira Jabari Sadira Gabriel Michael Tristan Ryan Nicolai Alexandra and anyone else you are partial to.....

I really am not sure about all the characters, but i do know that Kate Beckinsale would make an awesome Mira. She has the attitude, the sex appeal, and the experiance it would take to pull off the part.

I have NO idea, I found trying to pick out actors for characters so difficult. The only person I could possibly invision would be Lance Reddick for Jabari: www.imdb.com/name/nm0714698/He's from Fringe.

Okay, here's some more: Sadira: Patricia Clarkson - I may be mistaken, but it seems to me she's OLDER, and sort of matronly...I like Patricia because she's elegant, and older - and could be awesome as manipulative Sadira. www.imdb.com/name/nm0165101/then i was watching a movie called Gabriel today (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0857376/) - and there's this guy Andy Whitfield who I thought might be a good Danaus. www.imdb.com/name/nm1813878/ As for Michael or Gabriel (Mira's Angels) hmm - i don't have much of a visual of them. I can't even begin to think of somebody for them. Mira is too hard - I am thinking tall, thin but strong. I can't think of anyone at the moment. What's funny is now that you've opened pandora's box w/ the question I keep looking at actors and judging them worthy to play certain characters...lmao.

Okay, here are some of my picks:
Mira: Milla Jovavich -- After Resident Evil and Ultraviolet, I think she would make a perfect, kick-ass Mira
Danaus: Oded Fehr -- he played the desert warrior in The Mummy and The Mummy 2. I liked his shoulder-length hair, accent, and dark appearance. He's very much Danaus to me.
Jabari: as someone already mentioned, Lance Reddick is perfect
Valerio: Someone like Jude Law or Stuart Townsend
Elizabeth: Keira Knightly. If I could get her, then I would write more scenes for Elizabeth
Macaire: Ian McClennan
Tristan: Still searching. Someone handsome, somewhat soft, and distant. Wounded bird figure ... with teeth
Here are just some ideas. I'm still thinking.

Oh, how sad, I did NOT picture Danaus as Oded Fehr. He seems so OLD! I like the suggestion of Andy Whitfield, but with longer hair. I could see Milla Jovavich playing Mira!

Oded Fehr is NOT old ... and he is freaking HOT ... I can totally see him as Danaus.

I guess in my mind, Danaus has always looked like he is somewhere in his early to mid 30s. He's seen endless wars and battles against the darkness. While he is "immortal", these battles have aged his face slightly.

Yay for necropost. Almost anything with Milla Jovavich as the main bad ass heroine is just plain awesome. Danaus I kind of had someone like Kevin Sorbo in mind (post Hercules but pre Andromeda.) Maybe Ben Foster could play Tristan. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Foster_(actor) I remember him back when he was a child Actor in Flash Forward but he's come up from that geeky role. He's proven he can get buff and badass when the time comes. (I didn't even recognize him as Angel from X-3.) Maybe more this look: www.thepunisher.com/past_news/july_2005/ben_foster.JPG though I'm used to him being a blond.

Ooh, I can see him as Tristan, lilgumba. I think I just don't watch enough TV - I have a hard enough time casting my own characters.

i already assigned Kate Beckinsale to Anita Blake, but i love the idea of Milla Jovavich being Mira. She would rock. Oded Fehr-YUMMY.

I REALLY hope it's not a movie. I think it would ruin everything. And the directors never make the movie right.

got to agree with midnightprincess92 ! I don't mind having a face for the characters but NO movie.. I love the books itself as the author tells us.. Unless the author has 100% say for the movie.. then it's different story

Don't worry. I mean to protect my baby from the mean and brainless Hollywood directors.
