Is it too early to ask questions? Warning: Spoiler! I have a couple of questions that came to mind.
I'm curious about how much of a connection Danaus really has w/ Mira. He feels her hunger and when she uses her power, but how much can he really feel? I was just wondering if he was aware of when she was having sex.
I am confused on the time frame - this is all taking place rather quickly I gather - so from the time she met Danuas until they leave to go home how LONG has it been? Two weeks?
Thanks!

Good questions and I don't feel like I'm giving too much away by answering.
I'll start with the time issue first. Yes, books 1 and 2 happen very quickly. I'll admit that I'm answering this from memory, but I think it spans less than 2 weeks. A lot happens in a very short span of time. The action is intense, drawing Mira and Danaus together, but still it's only a couple weeks. We can't rush these things.
Is Danaus aware of Mira having sex? lol. I never thought of it that way. Yes, he is, but not in the way that you're thinking. Danaus is a smart man. He sees Mira in a robe in the living room, her hair tousled, he knows what happened. Did he "sense" it? No. He can sense her hunger when she's close and he can sense her powers when she uses them and when he is looking for her. But he's not always tuned in to her. He tries to limit how much he is in her head and how much he is connected to her as a matter of privacy and sanity.
But that begs the question: if Danaus had intentially connected with her mind mid-orgasm, would he have felt it? Hmmmmm....?

Thanks!
The time frame was in my mind through out the book - for me rushing things kind of ruins it, so the fact they have only known each other for two weeks makes sense. Still unsure of each other, still untrusting to a certain degree - I like the way you draw Mira and Danaus together, it's very slow. Although, i did find their chemistry more prominent in the first book than in the second book. Or is that my imagination?
So, then if he didn't feel her having sex, but knowing she DID have sex - makes me wonder what he thought about it. Those are the moments I wish we could get into his head. Although the few times Mira was in his head he seemed to be guarding himself - but it was all facinating. Still, I'm so curious what goes on in his mind!! lol!
As for Rowe - he's been working for centuries to get his wife back, but does he still want her because he loves her or is there something else going on? Reading Dayhunter is seems that (except a very few) Vampires are downright evil - but i still feel they are the greater of the two evils - maybe I'll change my mind in the next book.

I was going to say this in an e-mail, but then I found the forum! Yay! And I think it fits in this topic. I'm hoping for Danaus/Mira at some point. I was looking forward to Dayhunter, hoping there would be more development along those lines, like the scene when they are on the couch in Nightwalker, and I'll admit that to start with I was disappointed with the fact that there wasn't much in Dayhunter. (I agree with you, newfiewife, I think the chemistry was much more prominent in book 1.) But then, I thought about it, and I realised I prefer it this way. One of the things that bothers me about other romance-type fantasy books is how fast characters seem to 'fall in love'. There is no way (I think) that you could realise that so quickly. No way. And when I remembered just how short a time span there is for Nightwalker & Dayhunter, it made me like this even more. I like that things are progressing slowly, realistically. I'm going to enjoy wherever this series goes.

another option to consider is both mira and danaus are both multiple times as old as any of us will ever see in our years alive therefore 2weeks would be a short time for us but just minutes in comparison to their lives of hating the others kind so rushing things would completely unravel them
such as like danaus when he found out when mira fed she didn't kill totally amazed him

Exactly, darkstarpoet - it makes far more sense for things to happen slowly.

Ahh..... I love my readers. You understand!!!
Mira and Danaus haven't known each other long and Danaus has spent centuries hating nightwalkers. I just can't realistically overcome that hurdle in just a couple of weeks. These two need time if they are ever going to stop hating each other.
Thanks for your patience. I will try to make the wait worth your while.
