Jocelynn said she decide to kill her, whether that means she might become a Vampire or a ghost who knows, But I agree I think Tristan is a waist (I mean we are supposed to feel sorry for and think Tristan as helpless child, a guy that over a hundred who can bench press a Truck? He's a waist of space who needs to alway be rescued and wines, Please Just kill him.) and Lily had all this potential and she was just tough.

I know I hope some how they can safe her, maybe Ryan can heal her and Danius can put her soul back in her body, or Tristan can use his new found powers some way since he's still alive, I am curious about Mira daughter and about the witch having no aura hopeful in next book that's out soon

Just have to add my two cents on this. I was a little surprised Mira latched on to Lily so quickly, but was happy about it which made what happened that much worse. I was holding out hope she wasn't really dead, or could be saved somehow in the next book, but I guess that's not in the cards.
I don't think I'll ever feel the same about Tristan. He was never a favorite of mine and I'm tired of feeling sorry for him. I don't care if he was being controlled, I'm done with him.

I know how you feel. I know he's one of Jocelynn admitted favorites so I really tried to give him a chance but his whole stick is that he's this Weak Superhuman from the prospective of the other Vampires but as a Reader I see a guy who could bench press a semi truck and is supposed to be weak. How am I supposed to feel sorry or relate to that? Especially when that weakness is a lack of inner strength. And on top of that Mira was able to resist the command to some extent but even though he was possessed Tristan killed Lily might not be fair and I would find him innocent if I was a Juror in court of law but still blame him for being Weak and Killing Lily. Do not like him. Treason and evil you can fix be redeemable from but being a plain PUTS is forever. He's over a hundred years old and was a adult human man long time before Sadira ever showed up. Sadira just not a excuse HE IS PATHETIC whiner,if he really cared about people around him and was not just using them as flesh shields he would man up (excuse expression) tell Mira to let him go before he got others killed or he would take a suntan, see defying master not so hard after all .
So after him being to weak to stop him self from killing a child and the Incessant never ending Wining I am done. He's like a million other Dark brooding Wining cry baby Vampires STEREOTYPE that are in a million other storys. Just Plain Annoying.
Sorry Jocelynn we really did try but he like chewing tin foil as author you are his creator and know all about him but we the readers only know what we see AND it like a First Date, first impressions are all that count, And are fist impression is a guy with no inner Strength. Lily had that and was a strong character that will be missed but Tristan I think I can only remember him as the child killer becouse he was to weak and useless to resist. Not fair true but still how it is.
As for Lily bonding so quick with Mira we are assume for moment that it's not Mira that is the odd one but us normal humans who would allow a child walking are streets with out bonding with some one.(that it really dose happen just makes it worse)
Mira was from a small village and people would not let a child be homeless back then in her Village and after 800 years she still the same woman. Add to that of having to deal with her lost daughter hallucination and then Lily showing up,with a odd ball power that made her a out cast as child as Mira was herself? More to the point Modern People in real life do ignore Homeless Children, so who the one who are less human? I think that alone impresses Danaus as he felt bad about it but had a normal human reaction,to bad to sad move on. It was only when he realized Mira was going to raise the child that he started coming up with a place would be safe,And started worrying about her and wake realized that letting a child live on the streets was his problem the responsibility he and everyone has to children. Mira dose that, prove to be more human than human and is best when she the inhuman makes the rest of us more human by a better example.

I think for me, Tristan always showed a spark of hope and humanity in him that helped to soften Mira's rough edges. It's perfectly fine that you don't agree with me. Not everyone can be the strong, independent type like Mira and Danaus. I think the problem was that Tristan was broken by the death of his wife and child when Sadira found him, Sadira warped him some more, and then Mira set her mind to fixing something that simply couldn't be fixed any longer. I don't want to try to excuse his actions, as he could have been more assertive, but I think it better helps to understand his nature.
But don't worry. Wait For Dusk will fix your concerns about Tristan.

Awww... I love Tristan! He's sooo cute and adorable. I don't want him to go. It's not his fault!

I agree! I like Tristan and suspect that when he comes out from being under the influence of the Bori, he will suffer from extreme regret over what happened to Lily. I'm actually worried that he may not be able to live with the knowledge of what he did and may try to kill himself.

If he kills himself I WILL DIE!!! I'd be depressed for a week. He's sooo sweet. He didn't mean it. Stupid, evil Bori. Poor Lily too though.

I'm glad to see there is a reader split between Tristan Must Die and Tristan Must Live. I would hate to write a character that everyone hates. But then again, is there a character that you absolutely hate in the series?

I don't hate any of the characters, even Tristan. I hate to see any of them bite the dust, even Sadira or the SOB Jabari (should he be on the chopping block at some point), when they could just sit in the wings for a bit and appear occasionally in small doses. I agree with what's been said; Tristan will probably be overcome with grief for killing Lily and not be able to live with himself, though he didn't seem to have much sympathy for the murdered senator's daughter who he fed from. I found that a little surprising, given his sensitive nature. He did seem to bond with Lily which makes him killing her that much worse, for me at least. I'm really sorry Lily is gone for good, if she is. Seems like there would be a lot of storylines to explore with/through her, especially since she had a rare ability. How many characters can sense auras? Why would a regular human child be able to?
