I figured we could use a thread for anything that doesn't fit into a category. I suppose if we really wanted we could have separate threads for "Venting" and for "Amazing" things but let's start with this! I live in student housing, and the fire alarms went off at 4:30 in the morning. Needless to say, I was NOT pleased.

Arghhh On a Sunday Morning? That's just cruel if it was a false alarm. I'm glad I never had to live in a student house. *hugs*

Oh it is almost ALWAYS a false alarm. Usually the detectors go nuts if someone burns something. I just want to know what someone was doing at 4:30 on a saturday morning to set off the damn thing.

Two things today!
1. I went to a hot springs and spa today with my friend, and had a blast.
2. I am called for jury service. Tomorrow. >.<
I'll be taking Shift (Rachel Vincent) and The Hunger Games (Suzanne Collins) with me to keep me company all day long.

1 = awesome ... and kinda jealous. it's been SO LONG since I've gone to a spa and got spoiled.
2 = uhhhhhh .... well, you'll have books *hopeful smile*
I get to learn a new computer/register system at my book store tomorrow, and as odd as this may seem, I am SO JAZZED for it. we've had these same registers since I've been there and ... well, a really long time. I don't know if anyone here is even old enough to know what a B Dalton's is (I know I'm not) but they were bought by Waldenbooks, who was then bought by Borders .... and this store has been there through it all .... with the same freaking register system. so yay new registers *dances*. yep, I'm a dork.

Randomness:
Yesterday was an intensely productive day, particularly since I am still in recovery mode with my hand. I wrote 4,500 words on Book 6, which still needs a bloody title, and compiled the content for the Media page for the new website. I also wrote up a character sketch for Valerio to be added to the new website. I also found some deleted goodness in regards to Pray for Dawn that might make it to the new website.
If my hand holds out today, I'm hoping to get some more website stuff done. I just want to write a couple more character sketches and some info on getting published. Cross your fingers.
Also I'll be compiling a blog soon listing all the conventions that I will be attending this year now that everything has been confirmed.

ooooooooooooooooo ... very productive indeed .... just don't push your hand too hard. It'd be a shame to do more damage to it and end up having to rest even longer.

Randomness: I think I ended a friendship today. It was a long time coming, but the whole story is intensely complicated. Thank goodness I have so many other people who actually give a damn about me!

Random... I have tendonitis in my right wrist. it's getting better but nowhere near fast enough for me lol. Doctor told me to up my advil dosage to 800 mg 3x a day and wear the brace less to prevent stiffness. Today it feels GREAT. Oh and I read Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews on tuesday.

long ass day is long ... got up at 11am, worked from 3-10pm and one job, booked over to the other in less than 30 mins, clocked in there and worked until a bit after 2am. then went to a Denny's right there and had dinner with a friend and just hung out for a while. I'd forgotten how much fun it can be to get hit on, but it was fine. might even email the guy.
now it is 5am and I'm going to shower and collapse for a couple hours and then try to drag my ass outta bed at 10am so I don't totally fuck my sleep schedule up.

Today I got to ride for a grand total of 10 minutes. The poor pony was getting nervous about the thunder overhead so I got off- good thing I dismounted when I did because not a minute after I had gotten him back to the barn the skys opened up and started pouring rain, which then turned into hail, which then turned into golf-ball sized hail. And I am not exaggerating. You know how in books and stuff they always talk about 'golf ball sized hail'? I now understand why.
The poor pony was scared out of his mind but surprisingly enough he trusted me enough to settle down to get him back to his stall in one piece.
