Now, I don't watch football. Nor do I particularly care for it. But the parties are so much fun, and I go to socialize and eat yummy food! I think it'd be fun to share our favorite superbowl snack recipes. Here is mine:
Guacamole
2 ripe avocados
1/4 - 1/2 yellow onion
3 large cloves of garlic
1 lemon
salt
pepper
olive oil (optional)
Dice avocados and put into a mixing bowl. Mince your onion and garlic cloves as finely as you can and add to your avocados. Add the juice of half of the lemon, then salt and pepper lightly. You can always add more salt, pepper, and lemon juice but you can't take it out so start light, stir, taste, then add more! Mash it all together with a fork. If you like the taste but it's too thick, then drizzle in a little olive oil to thin it out.
Serve with chips. I like santitas because they're cheap and they don't break off when you scoop up some guac. If you're making this for a large party, double or even triple this recipe. Guac always goes fast!
note: I like super spicy guac so I usually put in more garlic than this, but as always you can adjust it all to your taste. There are no real rules. This is just how I make it.
Traditionally, lime juice is used, not lemon, but I quite like the flavor of the lemon juice. Some people also like to put tomatoes in, but I don't like raw tomatoes.
oh and one last thing...mixing avocados and salsa does NOT equal guacamole. Siriusly.
(I copy-pasted this straight from my blog)
