It may be a little early to tackle this subject considering there is only one book on the shelves, so we may have to revisit after Dayhunter comes out. However, I was wondering: are there any particular songs that you can think of that apply really well to the characters of the Dark Days Series?
I've got a few that I can list off the top of my head, but then I've been playing with these characters for 4 books now. Let's see what I can remember:
Mira: "Paranoid" by Linkin Park -- don't know why. This song just always makes me think of her. "Time is Running Out" by Muse
Danaus: "Paint it Black" by Rolling Stones,
Gabriel: "Gabriel" by Lamb
Tristan: "Save Me" -- Remy Zero
Mira & Danaus: "We're in this together now" by Nine Inch Nails
Mira & Danaus: "I Remember" by Stabbing Westward
Can you come up with anything good?

Dude, are you trying to make me cry? I just listned to "I Remember"...GEESH!
Um, let me try, I SUCK at this:
Mira: "Take Back the City" by Snow Patrol (because she loves her city so much)
Danaus: "It's a Sin" Pet Shop Boys (slight tongue in cheek)
Danaus & Mira: "Question of Lust" Depeche Mode (might be a stretch..but not in my mind..bwahahahaha)
Danaus & Mira: "What Have You Done Now?" Within Temptation
Hmm, that's all I can think of right now..I'll have to do some "research".
Okay, time for a tissue.

When I'm reading in the car/bus, I like to have music in the background. Yesterday reading Nightwalker on the bus I had Breaking Benjamin playing, which fit really well, I thought. There are so many different emotions in those songs.

Breaking Benjamin is a good match for the series. I think I've written a few scenes to their music.

i have a song that reminds me of the relationship between Mira and Sadira (or even Jabari)... it's "Diseased" by Seether.
"i will never belong to you again"
There are more than one song from Seether than made me think about characters from the Dark Days in fact. I guess it really depends on the reader and it's tastes in music.
I really like "We're in this together now" for Mira and Danaus of course i might be biased.
edit: i also thought about another one. There's Weak and Powerless by A Perfect Circle... It's not really attached to a particular character in my head but if their was a movie adaptation that would be on the soundtrack for me. it somehow reminds me of how Tristan might feel toward Sadira (or Mira with the ones that can control her)

As I am working on Book 5, I find myself spending a lot of time listening to the new Marilyn Manson album. There isn't any particular song that fits. The whole album sets the right tone for the book. As I get closer to the end and the final fight scene, I imagine that I will also be working in Street Sweeper Social Club.
I am a huge fan of Tori Amos and I wish I could write to her, but she is just too mellow for Mira.

I really want Broken, by Seether (feat. Amy Lee) to fit into this playlist. I'm not quite sure where it belongs, though, or who's voice it channels.

This song/video reminds me of the epic battle at the end, carrying so much emotion for me. When #16 dies (in the video) and Gohan goes ballistic it reminds me of Mira doing the same when her Guardian died in her arms and she falls to rage and hacks and hacks away at the enemy. Just as Gohan does www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrP7-O2I8aU&NR=1It is melodic power metal, having an uplifting yet dark theme at the same time.

This is also where I tell you guys that I have only heard of these bands by name (excepting Linkin' Park, I love LP) and I don't know most of the songs y'all are talking about lol. Maybe for fun I'll try to come up with a Country version of a soundtrack

A country version is a good idea. I haven't listened to country for several years, but I reconize names and might recognize a handful of the songs. I'd be interested to see how the different music style applies to Mira and the gang.

Can't believe this wasn't already mentioned since it's such an obvious choice, but here's a song that came readily to mind. Mira: The Prodigy - Firestarter ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmin5WkOuPw) Perhaps a bit too obvious? I can almost imagine Mira in one of the clubs in Savannah when this song comes on and the resulting smirk on her lips.

Ahh... duh... I can't believe that I forgot about that one. It's perfect. Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah, that one would definitely make Mira smirk.
