I'm so sad that the series is over, but I am glad that you are writing a novella with Valerio! I've always wanted to get a better, closer look into their relationship. Excited! Your books are EPIC!!! P.S. Elvos, It's too bad that you didn't like the book, but I thought it was awesome. It's always nice to see a woman as the hero, like Xena. But I think Danaus is manly. He has saved Mira as well, countless times. Sort of a give-take relationship, you know? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so I thought I would share mine.

Blacksatin773,
I am so glad that you enjoyed the book. I will really miss Mira and Danaus, but I have a whole new set of characters for you to love and I think you will. I saw a brief tweet from my editor on Twitter yesterday and I got the impression that she really likes the first book in the new series.

Just finished your book, it was fantastic! I am sad it's the last one, though. Can't wait for your new series. What's it about?

I am so glad that you liked it! Here's some information about the new series.
The Tattoo Artist
The title of the series is just a working title so I have something to save the files under on the computer and is subject to change. Also considering that the first book hasn’t hit my editor’s desk, things in the books are still subject to change. However, I can try to give you some highlights.
With the new series, I wanted to do a sharp change for the Dark Days world. Where everything is hidden and secret in the Dark Days series, everything in the Tattoo Artist world is out in the open. The world was broken open centuries ago and now elves, faeries, trolls, werewolves, and dozens of other creatures walk free and happy among the humans. They live in relative harmony with each other. However, there is one group that hovers like a dark shadow over the rest: the warlocks and the witches. These magic users are dangerous and cruel, monitoring the use of magic by anyone other than themselves. They are the gatekeepers, the judges, and ultimately, the executioners.
Now understandably, the humans would occasionally feel at a disadvantage in this world filled with other magical creatures. They would need to find their own edge here. So they turn to the tattoo artists. Tattoo artists are more than just artists of the flesh. They are also potion stirrers, putting them outside the realm of the warlocks. Need a little good luck? Want love? Want revenge? The right ingredients mixed in the ink along with the right symbol etched into the skin can get you your heart’s desire. Of course, this all comes with a price.
The series follows the tattoo artists at the Asylum as they encounter some interesting clients and battle their own demons.
So far, two books have been sold for this series and there is an interest for a pair of novellas to be released along with the books set in the same world. I am currently chipping away at the first book. No release date has been officially discussed, but I believe we are aiming to keep me on the same release schedule that I am currently on, so we are looking at the first book being released in Summer 2012.

With my TBR pile growing every month, I am so glad I finally got to Burn the Night. I knew from the forums that there would be different POVs but I did not expect the other to be Nyx. I must say I loved her character and could even see her being the heroine of her own series. That said, BtN was thrilling. I loved all the conflict, action and the battles. I thoroughly enjoyed Mira coming into a fuller realization of her powers beyond those of a nightwalker. I don't completely agree with Elvos? about Danaus. I do partially understand his/her point but I did not see it as Danaus having lost power. It was more that both Danaus and Mira gained each other and therefore became overprotective of that which changed their lives to something more meaningful than the vast emptiness in which they had lived their very long lives. Mira had to keep reminding herself that he was a hunter, that he was fighting in her world before she was even born and reborn to the nightwalkers. But that proved a difficult task, because he is the man she loves above all. We saw this attitude of the hunter himself even before he acknowledged his own feelings for her in the previous books. He knew she was strong and capable, the FIRE STARTER, but at times he felt the need to protect her as if she hadnt done it herself for over 6 centuries. But hey, I hear love makes people stupid, if not do stupid things Once again JD made me a bit teary with yet another heavy loss for team Mira. Daniel may not have been a big player in the series, but he grew on me from the Unbound short. I also deeply felt the loss of Savannah itself. Too bad we won't get to see Mira put Clarion in his place when she gets to Budapest, now with her demigod powers to the max. Oh may I just say that I love Valerio!!! He is so wicked. Enjoyed seeing Danaus prove Mira wrong again, with his jealousy. I enjoyed the book and feel that this story is certainly not over. I have so many questions: the Soga clan? Adio? Where did Freya go to? What about the Bori's cage? The Great Awakening? Part of me still refuses to accept that this is the last. I'm praying for a miracle

I finally finally finally read this. I've had the book for a few months but I kept putting it off because I didn't want it to end.
I really enjoyed it and am sad that it's over but I am really looking forward to the new series!

Thanks so much. It's been hard to say good-bye to Mira and Danaus, but I feel like I left them in a good place.
There is still a short story that will be released later this year and I'm finishing up the revisions on the first book in the new series. I'll keep everyone updated as I receive news.
