hmmmmmmmmm ... was the bori's blood toxic or was it just the naturi blood? I know for sure the naturi blood is. if bori blood is toxic, is there enough human blood in him to make it not so lethal? these are the kind of things that inquiring minds want to know. that, and on what page does the sex scene start? *grins* *giggle* EXACTLY. I thought he was possessed with a bori- not exactly BORI himself? So, maybe he's mainly human? hmmmmmm....

hmmmmmmmm ...I thought he was part Bori and Mira was part Naturi ....and that may have just answered my question ... then again, I think I just confused myself *laughs* this calls for a re-read ... right after I finish Kim's.

Amidst all of this...the first thing I noticed was how long her hair is on the cover, lol.

Sooooo, I'm seeing some people don't like the new covers? Bummer, I guess that is one drawback in releasing them too early, everyone becomes a critic. So, new question, if there' s a big dislike of the covers will the publisher change them? Cuz that would SUCK!

I would hope not ... Pray for Dawn still needs to grow on me a little because I was so fond of the floating face in the background on all the others, but it is a very visually stimulating cover. and Wait for Dusk is just fucking amazing *grins* literally *laughs* I have heard of the publisher having them changed, but the covers that do are usually totally not right for the book at all. with these two, they still have that dark gritty feeling to them, and honestly, with the narrator change to Danaus in Pray, it's only right to have a slight change with the covers. floating face was Mira's thing. now it's time for Danaus to have his moment, even if he gives it right back to Mira in the next book. the publisher would have to be crazy to change these covers.

Oh, dear I could be in the minority, but I never liked the floating face. It wasn't what drew me to the book. The whole vampire hunter/vampire dynamic was what sparked my interest, then of course reading the first few sentences had me hook, line and sinker! I do rather like the shadow of mira in the background and Danaus in the forefront. It IS fitting I think since it's his book. I can see where people think the cover for Wait for Dusk is a bit on the romance side - but it's still awesome! I guess if you have read the series you KNOW it's not a paranormal romance book - but maybe somebody who hasn't seen the series might get the idea that it is. *shrugs* Does it matter? Will it sell more books? Will it be on Oprah's book club! Ahh - so many questions. maybe I just like it because I'm a dirty minded girl...it looks nice on my desktop....

Oh my goodness, I LOVE this cover! I was in hysterics reading this thread - good job the roommates weren't around to wonder what the crazy girl was doing this time.
And I'm right there with you - angry wall sex for the win!! I really hope that that's Mira and Danaus on the cover.
Here's a thing - if that is them, then it (their relationship, in whatever way, shape or form it's in) must be a fairly important part of the book for it to merit being on the cover.

I am not going to comment on the plot of the book... I simply can't. The book release is way too far away. It just wouldn't be fair.
I can say with relative certainty that my publisher isn't going to change the cover even if people don't like it. There simply isn't enough time to come up with new covers and it would cost way too much!
The goal with the new covers was to entice a few more of the romance readers over to my series. The Dark Days series will always be an urban fantasy series, not paranormal romance. However, my publisher is not against me raising the bar slightly on the romance angle within the series.
Danaus on the cover of Pray for Dawn was important to me because he is the storyteller. He should have the cover.
I'll leave you to speculate about the rationale for the cover of Wait for Dusk.
It is a shame that some people don't like the covers. But don't ever doubt, I love my covers -- all of them.

feh....the whole floating face thing was neat, but what hooked me was being at a signing for Kim in Dayton 2 years ago and striking up a conversation about writing with this interesting red-head and finding out she was under contract and we talked a little bit and the way she talked about her story and writing in general made me want to read the first book and it was love at first word then. *grins* yep, I'm sappy.

based on a quote that Joce tossed up on her LJ a couple days ago, I'm pretty sure Wait will switch back to Mira ... which just makes the titles that much better and a bit of a play on the first 2 titles ...pray for dawn - dayhunter - Danaus' pov ... wait for dusk - nightwalker - Mira's pov ... *shrugs* that's just me though
